20 Year Class Reunion (Bismarck - July 24th & 25th 2009)

20 years already!? WTF! Seems like just yesterday when Monte (dressed as the Patriot Mascot) passed out at half-time on a pile of pom poms. Good times... good times...

Recently, several of us CHS '89 alums (as well as some of our friends from BHS and St. Mary's) re-connected on Facebook. In a flurry of wall postings and message exchanges, the subject of our 20 year reunion came up. Are we having one?... Who's setting it up?... When is it?... What's the deal?... After kicking around some ideas, we decided we'd better set a date and start making plans. So... mark your calendars for July 24th and 25th this summer!

• Friday July 24th (7pm - 1am) - CHS/BHS Social at The Drink (map)

  Usher in the weekend with some cocktails and a lot of laughs (or vice versa). We'll kick back on the patio overlooking the mighty Missouri and raise-a-glass with our fellow BHS '89 alums. There will be appetizers, a cash bar, and a band rippin' some good-ole stuff from the eighties.

  If closing time comes around a little too early for your liking (and when doesn't it?), plans are in the works for an after hours gathering - location TBD. ...think Red Shop meets The Desert (without the fights).

• Saturday July 25th (Noon - 3pm) - Family picnic at Sertoma Park - Shelter #9 (map)

  Let's see those kids and that fold-out accordion photo album you keep in your wallet! A picnic lunch with burgers, brats, and other delights will be served at 12:30pm. Soft drinks and water will be provided. Adult beverages are BYO.

• Saturday July 25th (6:30pm - they kick us out) - CHS '89 Reunion Banquet at the Bismarck Moose (map)

  Why the Moose?... because it's old-school, baby! A buffet-style dinner will be served starting at 7:00pm, followed by cheap/strong drinks at the bar. Later, if you fancy, a dj will be spinning all your favorite 80's hits.

Ramkota Inn (701-258-7700) (map)

A block of rooms has been reserved for the CHS class of '89 at the Ramkota Inn and are first-come/first-serve until they run out. Please book soon before some wedding party snatches up all the rooms in town for that weekend.

Shuttle Service

For those staying at the Ramkota Inn, shuttle service will be provided to and from the events on Friday and Saturday nights. Yay!

Taxi 9000 Cab Service (701-223-9000)

We will call ahead and tell Taxi 9000 to staff up, so put their number in your phone. No need to try and navigate the unforgiving streets of Bismarck 'half-crocked' when you've got a perfectly good cab company at your disposal.

Tickets

We know the economy sucks right now and many of you may be coming from far-far away, so we've tried to keep costs to a minimum. It's more important for us to hang out and catch up than it is to have some fancy-schmancy dinner. You may purchase your tickets through Pay Pal using the "Tickets" form on the right. A flat fee of $40 per adult will cover costs for all three reunion events. If you are planning on bringing your children to the picnic, a $5 per child fee is also requested. Sorry, you will not be reimbursed for events you choose not to attend. Any remaining funds will be donated directly to Century High School on behalf of the class of '89.

Please purchase your tickets as soon as possible, so we can plan accordingly and reimburse those who have paid the event deposits.
